Watching our Winthrop Eagles Soar over the Butler Bulldogs

Both Winthrop and Butler have jumped from being uncommon in the world of Basketball to having national champion stature, but we hold our breath on whether or not Winthrop will soar to even greater heights this Thursday.

This Thursday, March 16th the Winthrop Eagles are playing the Butler Bulldogs in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at the Bradley Center. This year Winthrop will be making its 10th all-time NCAA appearance after they won against Campbell University with a 17-point win. The Eagles won the Big South Tournament March 5 when the team dominated the Campbell Camels.Winthrop finished the regular season 26-6, winning the Big South title for the first time since 2010. Below are some stats between Butler and Winthrop.

So you can’t travel all the way to Milwaukee, and that’s a great problem to have since there is a high of 39 degrees there this Thursday. Our boys are suiting up to brace the weather, but we have to find alternative ways to enjoy the game and support our Eagles! So get together with your friends and tune in to watch the game Thursday on CBS beginning at 5:30 p.m. Eastern. If you don’t have satellite television or cable, you can also view it online on the NCAA website! Selection Sunday was this passed Sunday, March 12th, but you can still view clips from it here! So what will you expect to see during the NCAA championship? For the seventh year in a row, Turner Sports and CBS Sports will provide live coverage of all 67 games from the 2017 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship across 4 national television networks – TBS, CBS, TNT and truTV.

Turner and CBS will also return March Madness Confidential, providing exclusive, behind-the-scenes access of select NCAA Tournament teams, with features airing during studio coverage and on, telling the story of the Tournament. There will also be game and studio productions with pregame, halftime, bridge and post-game shows from studios in New York City and Atlanta. Studio shows will include The Road to the Final Four® and Infiniti NCAA Tip-Off pre-game shows, AT&T at the Half, Capital One Tournament Central and the Inside March Madness® presented by Buick post-game show.
