City of Charlotte Adopts FY18 Budget


Yesterday the Charlotte City Council adopted the FY2018 Charlotte City budget. This budget gives focuses on investing in neighborhoods, public safety, and investing in infrastructure. Some of the main highlights include:

  • No Property Tax increase
  • No Storm Water rate increase
  • Solid Waste: Up to $0.50 per month
  • Charlotte water: Up to $1.73 per month
  • 5 year capital infrastructure plan
  • Additional $22 million in public safety:
    • 62 officers, 25 civilian CMPD positions, 31 police cruisers, new equipment, 18 firefighters
